How this all works...
You may find credit card processing from your website to be complex. At eMatters, we made the investment in our technology, to allow your experience to be as simple as possible. To make this work, we have the following parties.
- Your (The Merchant)
- Us (eMatters, the "Technology Component")
- Acquiring Bank (The bank you have your Merchant Facility with)
- Issuing Bank (The Cardholder's bank, or American Express etc)
Here is an animation of how a transaction operates. It follows these steps......
- Order is placed on your website
- Credit Card details are processed with eMatters
- eMatters screens the Credit Card against our Fraud Screening system
- We then send the data to the Acquiring Bank (your bank)
- Your bank then confirms with the Issuing Bank that the card has sufficient funds
- The data is then sent back to your bank, who allocates the funds
- eMatters receives the confirmation data, which is stored and our reports are prepared
- FInally, your website is notified of the approval, and the order is complete. All this can take as little as 3 seconds.
