CASE STUDY 1 - Bricks and Mortar
A typical "bricks and mortar" business (ie, a business with a shop front) wanted to start trading online. They had speciality items which were hard to locate in Australia, so the web was a perfect solution.
Issue
- No existing shopping cart, but a simple website.
- No IT staff
Solution
- They implemented the eMatters Direct product with a link directly off their website allowing customers to purchase one or more of the item. The eMatters page collected shipping details, processed the payment and settled into their bank account the very next business day.
Timing
- Once they had their Internet Merchant Facility with their bank, the eMatters setup took 45 minutes - from the start right through to the end. Now payments arrive into their account automatically.
CASE STUDY 2 - Distribution Company
Thsi Distribution Company had 30 locations around Australia, many in remote and dusty locations. When we were first contacted, they had 30 EFTPOS machines, with each location sending a daily MS-Excel spreadsheet back to the head office for reconciliation.

Solution
- They implemented the Virtual Terminal from our eMatters Enterprise Edition, which gave them unlimited usage of the terminal from their PC.
- Each PC in each location was already connected to the Internet, so we were able to return the EFTPOS machines, and cancel the Telstra phone line, saving them $68 per location, per month. This alone is an annual saving of almost $25,000.
- Head Office had access to the Secure Merchant Desk Console to monitor transactions as they happen (and to perform detailed reconciliations)
Timing
- Once they had their Internet Merchant Facility with their bank, eMatters designed a simple process to remotely rollout the Virtual Terminals on each remote workstation. Each rollout took 10 minutes.
